Illinois launched legal mobile sports betting in 2020 and quickly became one of the country's largest regulated markets — Chicago alone drives more handle than most entire states. Bears, Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Big Ten football all price sharply because books know Illinois bettors are sophisticated. Your edge comes from research and line shopping, not from finding an unregulated loophole.

Which Sports Betting Apps Rank Best in Illinois?
Are DraftKings and FanDuel the Best Apps in Illinois?
For most bettors, yes. DraftKings and FanDuel are the top two apps in Illinois for the same reasons they lead nationally: deepest NFL and college football menus, best same-game parlay builders, and the most reliable live betting. Chicago's competitive market means both apps price aggressively on Bears and Cubs lines.
Which Illinois Apps Are Best for Promos and Line Shopping?
BetMGM is strong on NFL moneylines and runs frequent Illinois-specific promos. Caesars integrates with Caesars Rewards. ESPN BET appeals to casual bettors in the ESPN ecosystem — useful for Bears and Big Ten coverage, less ideal as your only sharp book.
Should You Install BetRivers or Fanatics in Illinois?
BetRivers (Rush Street Interactive) is headquartered in Chicago and often posts competitive NHL and NBA prices — a natural second book for Illinois bettors. Fanatics holds an IL license and ties into merchandise rewards. Both are worth installing for line shopping.
